US: Wildfire Prompts Mandatory Evacuations In Santiam Canyon, Oregon
Multiple wildfires have broken out in the Santiam Canyon, prompting evacuation orders for Lyons-Mehama through Idanha, including Mill City and Detroit. Evacuation notice has been escalated to level 3 on Tuesday, September 8.
Oregon Gov. Kate Brown approved enact the Emergency Conflagration Act in response to these wildfires.
Several roads including I-5 and Highway 99 are closed due to wildfires.
