Darren Harper, 40, a carer living from Halifax, West Yorkshire, was approached by police on May 8th 2020, regarding a sign he had placed in his vehicle.

"The police came to allege I had committed an offence regarding a sign that was displayed in the vehicle in the video. The sign read "COVID-19 is a lie #SCAMDEMIC #EndTheLockDown #F*ckThePolice".

Harper said that the officer said the signage was in violation of Section 5 breach of the Public Order Act 1986.   This is a summary offence not requiring police attendance. Harper said the officer threatened to unlawfully arrest him, assault him and his property, and steal the vehicle if he or one of his colleagues were to see the vehicle with the sign in it again.

After a long argument, the officer eventually left the scene and no charges were made.
