Dark orange skies as Silverado Fire slowly approaches the city of Irving, California

The city of Irving, California, started its day with strong and gusty Santa Ana winds on Monday morning (October 26), causing the Silverado Fire to grow quickly and majorly.

According to the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA), the Silverado Fire in Irvine, California, has doubled in size in a matter of hours.

The fire is being driven by strong, erratic winds estimated to be about 20-30 miles per hour with gusts of 60-70 mph.
