Bipartisanship! Trump and Biden supporters enjoy dance-off at voting event in Miami
This was the moment a Donald Trump supporter engaged in a fun dance-off with Joe Biden supporters at an early voting event in Lemon City Library in Miami, Florida.
The unusual occurrence took place on October 31.
John Henry Dale, the filmer, told Newsflare: "I was DJing this early voting event at the Lemon City Library. A rare moment of bipartisan cooperation in this crazy 2020 election where Biden-Harris fans teach Trumpers how to love and dance to Black African Djembe Music, one flag-waving white boy at a time.
"The man in the Trump flag had come to counter-protest the Democrats who were stationed across the street from the early voting site.
"The first song I played as a DJ that day was 'FDT' by YG and Nipsey Hussle. If you listen to that song, it becomes pretty obvious what those letters stand for. One of the site leads there had initially told me to play some loud music to drown out the Trump supporters. But when I started playing 'FDT' things got a little bit chaotic, and the Florida Democrats site lead then informed me that there were two unmarked cars with FBI agents inside across the street surveilling the early voting site in case a fight or conflict broke out there. She then told me that I needed to cut the music and play some music that was not quite so controversial and incendiary.
"So I started to play some afrobeat remixes and then went on to play the song that you hear in this video, which is called 'Djolé' from the album 'Fakoly 1' by Fodé Seydou Bangoura, who is a master Djembefola from Guinea.
"Overall, I felt that this video represented a joyful moment that we don’t often get to see in this very partisan and rancorous election cycle. The Trump guy waving the flag was genuinely nice and afterwards we all agreed that this was a great moment where two opposing political parties could be unified by the visceral power of music. We also feel like this video embodies Joe Biden’s message of being a president for all people and that we can learn to all get along better in this country and if there is more that unites us than divides us.
"Also, it's important to note where this event took place in Lemon City, Little Haiti Miami, as it's significant for the black population of Miami."
