Clashes erupted between police forces and protesters in New York City on Wednesday evening (November 4) as protests over vote count sweep through US cities.

Footage filmed by Twitter user @vsthill in Washington Square Park show protesters brawling with riot police.

It was reported the protest was mostly peaceful but some clashes did breakout as seen in the footage and arrests were made.

"Count Every Vote" protests spread to New York on Wednesday night, November 4.

Protesters descended onto downtown New York City to demand the counting of all votes as the nation patiently waits the results of the 2020 election. The protests in Washington Square Park and Seventh Avenue were mostly peaceful but some clashes with police and arrests were reported.
