This artist from Canada can colour match his paint with any object around the house.

The clips, filmed over October, show Jonah Moore mixing cyan, magenta, yellow, black and white together to perfectly match colours of objects around the house, including his water bottle, a banana and most impressively - his mirror.

At the beginning of the video, Jonah was attempting to follow a TikTok trend of mixing the perfect skin tone, "but they were using red, blue and yellow and the result was not very satisfying," he explained.

"Having taken some colour theory classes myself in optometry school, I figured using the true primary colours for subtractive colour mixing, I would be able to achieve a much better result. Then I extended the trend and tried to match a whole bunch of other random things in my house just to prove that it can be done with just about anything," said Jonah.

"In the video, I match my own skin tone using the primary colours for subtractive colour mixing: cyan, magenta and yellow, along with some black and white to change the saturation and value of the colour. I also try to match some other random objects too!"

"I thought I had done a reasonable job matching my skin tone on the video, but I was surprised to see how big of a response the video got - both from my family and friends as well as over 10 million views on TikTok!" said Jonah.

Most of Jonah's artwork requires exceptional colour matches. For example, painting Pokemon cards requires precise colour matches in order to produce as seamless a result as possible.

"Usually when I make colour matches I start with a colour close to the one I’m trying to match, so matching my skin tone just using primary colours was a bit more difficult, but not impossible!" concluded Jonah.
