This US man went all out when wrapping his sister's present with a Ruth Bader Ginsburg-inspired collar.

Footage from November 5 shows the black box adorned with the iconic collar worn by the late Justice, with a portrait revealed inside.

The filmer - who wishes to remain anonymous so as to not spoil the surprise - told Newsflare: "Every year for our family gift exchange I like to wrap the gift I give in a creative way, themed with the present.

"Due to the pandemic, we will not be having the usual exchange so I decided to put the effort into a gift for my sister.

"She has long seen Ruth Bader-Ginsburg as a role model and when I saw the painting on Etsy shortly after Justice's death, I knew it would make a great gift for her as she is soon to move into a new apartment."

He also said online: "It is all pretty straight forward, mostly just folding black construction paper to make it look sorta like the folds of a robe and adding the signature lace necklace.

"It isn't perfect but it isn't permanent either given it is just the wrapping for a gift.

"I think wrapping stuff in creative ways is a great outlet for craft projects. It gives me an excuse to make something I want to make but I don't force someone to feel guilty about throwing away a gift they may not really want.

"Instead I can buy them what they want and enjoy their reaction to the wrapping knowing it isn't made to last."
