Protesters storm public complaints commission in Abuja, Nigeria
This footage was filmed and produced 17 October 2020.
End SARS is a decentralised social movement, and series of mass protests against police brutality in Nigeria. The slogan calls for the disbanding of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a notorious unit of the Nigerian Police with a long record of abuses.
On the video distraught anti-SARS protesters stormed the country's public complaints commission over the institutions quietness and lack of interference in the SARS issue despite wide spread complaints from the public. This was one of the many commissions/ministries the protesters stormed which they felt failed to live up to the responsibility it had to the public.
