New COVID-19 strain found in Brisbane prompts panic buying and three-day lockdown
The emergence of the UK variant of COVID-19 in Brisbane has prompted a three-day lockdown and panic buying has already started.
Footage captured on January 8 at the Strathpine Centre by @QueenQeeko shows large queues of people stocking up on goods.
Further footage filmed by Kerrie Louise shows similar scenes at the Brookside Shopping Centre.
The Queensland Government declared a three-day lockdown starting at 6 pm in order to prevent the spread of the UK strain of coronavirus.
