Blink and you'll miss it! Students capture cool chemical reaction
Uploaded by a Newsflare content partner
These university students from Kilsby, Northamptonshire, conduct an incredibly satisfying quick chemical reaction called iodine clock reaction.
The clip, filmed on September 27, 2018, shows Alberto Palmer and his classmates doing the experiment that turns clear liquid black.
The reaction in this experiment is termed an iodine clock reaction because it is the molecular iodine that undergoes the sudden concentration change.
When the iodine concentration increases, it reacts with the starch in the solution to form a complex, turning it a deep blue-black colour.
