Snowy conditions send gritter drifting up steep hill in West Yorkshire
This was the moment a gritter in Elland struggled to get up a hill in the recent snowy conditions.
Footage from January 14 shows the large vehicle powering up the steep incline on Dewsbury Road, but runs into trouble when the back wheels start spinning on the snow ending up at an oblique angle.
Slowly but surely the gritter manages to conquer the steepness of the hill.
Filmer Andy Steer said: "I and many others were attempting to get up out of Elland.
Steer was heading to work in Huddersfield when he came across this scene.
"All roads impassable at this time - 9:30 am - and the only level road out of Elland to Brighouse."
