Orthodox Christians in Belarus celebrated the occasion of Epiphany by plunging into ice-cold water and crossing their chest on January 19.

Footage shows one climbing into a lake that is covered with ice, baptising himself and crossing his chest in the shape of a crucifix.

Epiphany is a Christian holiday, established in honour of the event of the gospel history, the baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan River by John the Baptist.
