This clip shows people celebrating Palestinian Prisoners' Day (17 April) in Gaza.

This national holiday day was approved by the Palestinian National Council in 1974 to celebrate the struggle for freedom and remember those imprisoned for going against Israel’s occupation.

Abdullah Qandil, president of the Wa'ed Association, says: "This day, should help to raise awareness on the issue of prisoners and to expose the continuous Zionist violations of prisoners' rights".

Qandil also said: "April 17 should also be a collective national milestone for the creation of a national vision, meaning Palestinians defending their family and participating in international forums".
