The footage, captured by a visitor to the Busch Gardens wildlife park in Tampa, Florida, shows the silverback making the rude gesture during a scuffle with an older blackback.

The assembled crowd can be heard laughing uproariously as the animal repeatedly directs the offensive hand signal towards its playmate.

Writing online about the experience, the filmer said: "A very spunky Blackback Gorilla continues to pester the older Silverback to play with him. His tactic was to throw a "KONG" at his fellow gorilla's head, as if that was going to coerce the old gorilla into play mode! Then this happened!"
