A bizarre video has emerged from Prague, Czech Republic of porters hauling luggage at a metro station after authorities apparently failed to install an escalator.

"Why would you do it easy way when there is a difficult way to master - that seems like a motto of Prague’s official transport organization", the filmer later wrote online.

He said: "During this week, new part of the subway line A has been opened in Czech capital. But guess what - they “forgot“ to build one part of the escalators on the way to main exit.

"Although brand new, it is already a very busy subway station with lot of people carrying heavy luggage. When people objected that it is highly unpractical, Prague's transport organization replied that there is an elevator leading to the ground exit. It is, but quite far away from the bus station neighbouring with station Nadrazi Veleslavin.

"Prague’s politicians quickly found out that this weird mistake could get a lot of publicity and decided that the escalator will be constructed in the near future. Until then, porters hired by Prague Airport will help people with their heavy luggage.

"When you watch people being approached by porters, they are afraid of many things. Some of them are afraid that they will have to pay (service is free of charge) while others simply don’t want to allow anyone to carry their luggage. It is not clear for how long will the service of porters operate but it quickly turned out to be one of the popular things to capture on your camera in Prague.

"Porters are working from 5AM to 10 PM. They don’t help only with a heavy luggage but also with baby carriages. After all, 32 steps is for many people difficult thing to beat even without a heavy piece of luggage."
