'Sakurajima Volcano Eruption Makes for a Stunning Visual '
'Captivating footage showing what residents of Kagoshima City witness on a daily basis... a volcano eruption.
Filmed by Kenta Fujikubo, this video features smoke billowing out of Sakurajima, an active stratovolcano in Japan.
The filmer gave us a little history/geography lesson while discussing this explosive clip: "Kagoshima City is located along the sea in southern Kyushu and is the prefectural capital of Kagoshima Prefecture. Sakurajima, an active volcano facing Kinko Bay (Kagoshima Bay), is famous, and at the foot of it, a lava Nagisa promenade is maintained."
He added: "Sakurajima was once an independent island, but after the eruption in 1914, it was connected to the Osumi Peninsula. Even now, it erupts every day, but the citizens live with the volcano. That is our daily life. There are also benefits such as the hot springs and polished water that you can put in the city."
