Lebanese in Beirut block roads with garbage bins and burning tire
This footage was filmed and produced 15 July 2021.
Governments in Lebanon are formed by "negotiation and agreement". Assigned PM and President Aoun could not reach a mutually agreeable government formation after multiple attempts from Hariri.
Lebanese Lira also took a nosedive as Hariri announced resignation, dropping from 19,500 LBP to 21,500 LBP per dollar (according to unofficial exchange rate apps). Until November 2019, the Lebanese Lira was pegged at 1,500 LBP per dollar.
The video shows Lebanese blocking roads with garbage bins and burning tires after assigned PM Saad Hariri resigned as crisis escalates. Hariri has been meeting with President Michel Aoun over the last 9 months without any fruitful outcome.
