One year on from the devastating Beirut blast, local influencer Ali Chehade decided to wander the streets of his scarred city.

The economic crisis and political dysfunction that followed the explosion mean that the families of the victims are still fighting for answers and many buildings remain in ruins.

Chehade's footage shows some buildings in more or less the same state they were after the August 4 disaster.

Reconstruction work is underway at others but the pace has been drastically slowed by a lack of funds and hyperinflation.

On some street corners, piles of rubble from damaged buildings serve as a constant reminder of the tragedy that killed more than 200 people and injured thousands.
