A collection of vintage wines from Chris de Burgh's private cellar sold for more than £345,000 at Christie's in London.

The set of 320 bottles and 84 magnums of mainly red wines fetched almost double the guide price of £200,000.

Chris' most-prized lot was a case of Château Lafite Rothschild 1945, containing the original straw bedding placed in the box at the end of the second World War .Mouton Rothschild 62-magnum lot sold for £155,250 and set a world record for a magnum collection of post-war vintages
