My name is Liz Kover; I'm 43 years old and I'm an an animal-assisted interventionist and service/therapy dog trainer. These three videos were all filmed in my house and yard in Bakersfield, CA, during Covid lockdown in the fall/winter of 2020/2021.

My favorite thing about therapy dogs/animals is simply watching them make people happy; it's what they do best, simply by existing and being themselves! My family and friends love my pets dearly, and know that they mean absolutely everything to me. People are mesmerized and delighted watching Luca and Huckleberry play, wrestle, and snuggle together - as am I. It still blows my mind that they've become such close buddies and it warms my heart every day that I witness their bond in action.

In the first video, Luca and Huckleberry are wrestling and playing, which they do often. It's hilarious and adorable. Luca is a nearly-80 lb labrador, but he's so gentle with his kitten friend, Huck, who weighs approximately 6-7 lbs...

In the second video, Huckleberry is lazily playing with her favorite toy, the Cat Dancer. Huck LOVES being in her yard (in which she is safe and contained; she cannot get out, so I feel good about her being able to enjoy the outdoors while also staying safe on her home turf). She enjoys laying in the grass or underneath shady bushes; drinking from the doggie pool; and playing fetch with her hair ties while Luca fetches his tennis balls.

My Neighbor found Huckleberry crying in the street when she was just a tiny baby, probably no more than 9 or 10 weeks old. Her right front leg was completely immobile and void of sensation. I decided I would foster her and help her heal through her amputation surgery a few weeks later...then knew I would keep her when it turned out that she and Luca became so close. She works with Luca and me now as a therapy animal, but mostly she's just a regular kitty with a wonderful life! I figure she will turn 1 in mid-July.
