Anti-vaxxers storm Covid test centres during Manchester 'Freedom' rally

Protesters at a 'Freedom' rally in Manchester, UK, stormed multiple Covid testing facilities on Saturday 14 August.

The rally was called in opposition to so-called coronavirus passports. While they do not exist in the UK at present, the government has talked about plans to require proof of vaccination for nightclubs.

Covid testing centres are unrelated to vaccine rollout or vaccine 'passports' so it is unclear why they were targeted, other than the protesters' wider scepticism towards the dangers, or even existence, of Covid-19.

Many of those at the rally were also hostile to vaccination, as well as the question of 'passports'.

One man shouted on a megaphone that a Covid testing centre they entered was the site of a "holocaust".
