Mashed cake anyone? The strangely satisfying ASMR sound of smashing a perfectly good gateau
Taking a potato masher to a perfectly good cake might not satisfy the stomach but the ears are another thing entirely.
In this video, someone with more of an ear for tingle-inducing 'ASMR' sounds than they have a sweet tooth, slowly smashes a cream cake.
Listening on headphones, the sound of the cake being turned into mush, first by the mashing tool and then by the filmer's own hands, is surely every bit as delicious as the cake itself.
And while the cake's maker might not be impressed at what has been done with their handiwork, as any small child knows, smashed cake tastes just as good as the original.
