Aerial view of the Paulo de Paiva Castro Reservoir, also known as the Juqueri Reservoir, is formed by a dam located on the Juqueri River, in the São Paulo municipality of Franco da Rocha and was built by Sabesp to supply water to the city of São Paulo. The dam is part compacted earth and part concrete. Some reservoirs in São Paulo are reaching critically low water levels, affecting the supply of the most populous state in the country, where homes, businesses and agriculture are increasingly affected by drought.
