An amazing video has emerged of a fisherman accidentally catching a 450 pound endangered sawfish off the coast of Fort Myers, FL, US earlier this month.

The footage shows the man reeling in the massive catch, later measured at 15 foot long, while his friends look on in awe.

At one point in the video the fish lashes out at the man, who dodges just out of range of the animal's flailing saw.

Writing online about the catch, the filmer said "We caught an endangered 15 foot Sawfish.

This fish weighs in at approximately 450 pounds. It took 70 minutes to pull in the monster of a fish to the side of the boat.

The fish was safely released, and Florida Fish and Wildlife was notified about the catch, and the video was shared with them. This dinosaur was truly a catch of a lifetime."
