Stunning footage shows the moment hundreds of lanterns floated into the night sky above Dallas, Texas earlier this month.

The glorious video was captured by Geena Yum at the "Night Lights" event at Texas Motorplex on October 3.

"During the lantern festival, we can make a wish and hope for it to come true by sending off a lantern into the sky," Yum said.

"It was the MOST beautiful, breathtaking sight I have ever seen," she added.

'In a video that is guaranteed to take your breath away, hundreds, if not thousands, of floating lanterns can be seen illuminating the stunning night sky in Dallas, Texas.

The spectacular event in question was inspired by the traditional Thai Lantern Festival.
