This is the amusing moment a mother from the UK stumped her 12-year-old son with a deceptively simple maths question.

"If you were you were born ten years ago, how old would you be today?" Delphine Payne asks her son.

After several wrong guesses, the youngster finally lands on the right answer.

"I was trying to trick my son," Payne said.

"Looks like I succeeded because he didn't get the question, haha," she added.

The funny moment was captured in Helston in Cornwall on October 24.

Footage filmed by Delphine Payne shows her asking her son a very simple question that is: "If you were born 10 years ago, how old would you be today?"

It takes the youngling about a minute and multiple wrong attempts before he finally answers it correctly.

"I was trying to trick my son," the filmer told us. "Looks like I succeeded because he didn't get the question, haha."
