A photographer in Argentina managed to film a huge chunk of a famous glacier breaking off and crashing into a lake.

The dramatic footage filmed on November 3 shows the Perito Moreno Glacier and after some smaller cracks and calvings, a very big part of ice breaks off and falls into the water causing massive waves.

- This video was taken in the province of Santa Cruz, department Lago Argentina in Argentina and shows the famous Perito Moreno Glacier in the Los Glaciares National Park.
The exact GPS Coordinates are: 50°28'2.31" S 73°2'0.263" W (see the attached location screenshots)

- Together with some other passionate photographers, I traveled to Patagonia to see some of the beautiful spots of Chile and Argentina.
The Perito Moreno Glacier was impressive but did not seem to become one of the highlights of this journey at first glance.
Some cracking in the ice and some smaller calvings here and there, but most of all, it was the amazing view that kept us waiting…
But we knew that if we wanted something to eat, the restaurant up there would close around 6 PM… and we had another 2 hours drive to get to the hotel.
So it was about going to eat or wait… I was the last one who preferred waiting a little bit longer, and what you can see in this video is my reward.
Others could just look back with their mouths open, while I was in the perfect position to film this natural happening that finally was one of the highlights of this trip!"
