This is the moment two massive chunks of ice broke off a glacier in Argentina and splashed into the water below.

The dramatic scene was captured at the Perito Moreno glacier in Patagonia back in 2019.

"This was taken during my one-month trip to Argentina with my partner, Andrea," the filmer, Christian Haeuser said.

"Her wish was to visit the amazing Perito Moreno glacier. And when we arrived there, a huge ice block, approximately 70 x 20 meters, collapsed," he added.

"But that wasn't it because right after the first breakage, another 70-feet high ice chunk separated from the glacier and fell into the water," he said.

The filmer explained that the reason behind the visually-appealing ice-calving is that the flowing water constantly pushes the ice upwards.

This awe-inspiring scene was caught on camera on January 13, 2019.
