The governor of Oklahoma called off the execution of death row Julius Jones just hours before he was to be put to death, on Thursday 18 November.

On Wednesday 17, supporters of Jones returned to Oklahoma's State Capitol to keep putting pressure on Gov. Kevin Stitt to grant clemency.

Jones was convicted for the 1999 murder of an Edmond businessman and has maintained his innocence ever since.
