A strike on London's tube network on Black Friday has hit retailers on one of the biggest shopping day of the year.

The 24-hour walkout, from 4.30am Friday 26 November, directly affects the Central, Jubilee, Northern, Piccadilly and Northern lines.

Drivers' unions say more action planned in the run-up to Christmas.

Transport for London, which runs the capital's public transport network, says drivers have been told they would have to work 'four night shift weekends per year'. They have also been told that no jobs would be lost, TFL says.

But the RMT union says that this would "wreck the work-life balance" of it's members.
