The Humber Bridge in northern England appears to float above the clouds in these stunning drone images.

The bridge between East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire over the Humber opened in 1981 and is often visited by wildlife photographer Calvin Taylor, who captured these images.

Taylor usually visits the area to photograph local wildlife but when he saw the stunning effect of the mist floating just below the road, he knew that it needed to be immortalised for all to see.

Taylor, 45, who lives in nearby Scunthorpe said: "These pictures are different take on an iconic structure, a place that everyone in North Lincolnshire talks about.

"I have seen fog there before coming up over the road, but this time the fog settled below the road making the bridge look like it was floating.

"The first thing I said was 'nice shot!'"

When the Humber Bridge opened in 1981 it was the longest of its type in the world, although it is now in eleventh place. It is the UK’s longest single-span suspension bridge and also the longest in the world that can be crossed on foot or by cycle.

The landmark spans the estuary, which joins the rivers Trent and Ouse, and is Grade 1 listed.
