Children in the western German state of Hesse make the most of the snow by sledding down a local hill on Saturday (January 8) after the first bout of proper snow of the winter.

While the kids were having fun in the snow in Wiesbaden, many parents treated themselves to some hot mulled wine to keep warm.

Footage filmed on Saturday shows kids racing downhill on their sledges, snowmen and parents and their children outside a nearby restaurant.

Kids were sledding down a local mountain near Wiesbaden in Germany on Saturday after there’d been the first proper snow of the new year and the entire winter.
