An 18 wheel truck tried driving up a slight hill in snowy conditions but lost power and ended sliding uncontrollably back down the slope.

Mark Belton noticed the huge vehicle about to attempt a tricky incline in icy and slippery conditions in Braintree, Massachusetts at 5:20 on the morning of January 7th.

The security company supervisor sat from the warmth of his home as the area was hit with winter storms, causing disruptions including to this truck driver.

The car transporter was fortunately not carrying any goods as it began it's climb up the snow covered road but it quickly lost momentum and speed.

The truck reached as far it could go before stopping and then sliding back down the street in a free fall, brakes locked up and the driver became a passenger.

Eventually the vehicle came to a halt as it narrowly missed the precariously placed telephone pole and avoided any damages.

Mark said: "I was hoping he did not hit the telephone and I was happy the driver made it out safely.

"This was not the first time seeing a 18 wheeler slide down my street."
