Massive lightning bolt creates 'fireball' in Florida back yard
Amazing footage has emerged of a bolt of lightning creating a ‘fireball’ in a back yard in Florida, US.
The video, captured by Naples resident Rita Krill during a storm in October 2012, shows lightning hitting a tree with an explosive bang, right behind her house.
“Actual footage of a lightning strike from only 100 feet from where I was standing,” Rita later wrote online.
“I just happened to be enjoying a thunderstorm with my new camera and using the movie feature when lightning struck! And my new puppy just stood there! The electrical uplighting is what caused the fireball!”
