Prince Charles greets members of the public during royal visit to Southend-On-Sea
Prince Charles greeted members of the public during a royal visit to Southend-On-Sea on Tuesday March 1.
He made the visit as Southend finally received the city status that its former MP, the murdered Sir David Amess, had campaigned for for many years.
Charles presented the city status document to the town during his visit, making it the UK's 52nd official city.
The Prince of Wales was also wearing a small yellow daffodil on his jacket -- a nod to the fact it is St David's day, the national day of Wales, one of the UK's constituent nations and the one his main royal title refers to.
