Protests spurred by the rising prices of food, fuel, and other essential items continued today, April 5, in Lima.

On Tuesday afternoon, President Pedro Castillo lifted a curfew that he imposed on Monday night that intended to quell widespread defiance on the streets.

A violent clash occurred when some demonstrators tried to break the police fence located on Abancay Avenue to continue their march towards the Congress of the Republic and protest against the government of Pedro Castillo.
