This is the emotional moment a US woman surprised her sick grandfather by showing up at his home unannounced for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Kylee Jones hadn't seen her grandparents for years due to coronavirus and then her own diagnosis with a serious condition affecting her nervous system. All that time her grandfather's health was deteriorating.

On May 7, she decided the time was finally right and drove to visit him in Salt Lake City.

“I arrived with my cousin, and she was able to help cover the ring doorbell camera and record the video of me surprising him!” said Jones.

“It was great to see him and he was so surprised,” she added.

This video shows the heartwarming moment a granddaughter surprised her grandfather, who has kidney disease and an adrenal gland tumor.

She hadn't been able to meet him since COVID-19 began. In 2021, she was also diagnosed with Autonomic Dysfunction and POTS. Due to her health, she was unable to travel. Her grandfather's health was deteriorating at the time.

On May 7, 2022, she made a plan, drove instead of flying (due to her health situation), and arrived at her grandpa’s house to see him.
