A British man's stunt went badly wrong after he jumped into a bin but got locked inside.

Footage captured in Sheffield on May 6 shows Dylan Grainger leaping into the plastic rubbish container.

A friend then shuts the lid as a joke but accidentally locks the bin.

With no idea how to get Grainger out the lads begin to panic for a moment.

Eventually, they worked out how to unlock the dumpster and got their friend out unharmed.

Shared by Dylan Grainger, this video shows his friends messing with him when, all of a sudden, things actually get complicated for a second.

"I was on a night out in Sheffield and jumped into a bin for a dare, and the lid locked on me," Dylan said.

As soon as the subject springs into the bin, his buddies close the lid as a joke to freak him out, not realizing that this would end up locking it.

With no idea how to open the lid again, panic ensues among the boys for a moment as they try to figure out how to get Dylan out.
