Extraordinary Shelf Cloud With Gust Front Over Frederick, Maryland - July 23, 2022
As the temperature climbed to 97 degrees in the Frederick, Maryland area on Saturday July 23rd, 2022, a severe thunderstorm complex formed in West Virginia and proceeded eastward into Maryland. As it ran into the Catoctin Mountains and weakened around 7:30pm, an extraordinary shelf cloud formed with a decent gust front/outflow boundary and some rain with a beautiful pink sunset.
