Endangered whale shark slaughtered in southern China
A video which appears to show the slaughter of an endangered whale shark has emerged from China.
According to local media, the incident took place on August 4th on Zhapo Zhouzai Pier, Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province.
Video footage shows the whale shark, the largest known fish species, being pulled from the water still alive before being sliced up by two men using a large saw.
The whale shark has been on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species since 2005.
