Mourners carry the bodies of the leader of the Palestinian militant group Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade, Ibrahim al-Nabulsi, and two of his comrades. The men died during an Israeli house raid in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus. The operation resulted in a gunfight that lasted several hours. 40 Palestinians were injured during the raid.

Israel claims that Nabulsi, known as "the lion of Nablus", was the leader of a cell carrying out attacks against Israelis in the West Bank. The country's special forces spent more than a year pursuing him. He survived several assassination attempts by Israel.

Last Sunday (August 7), Egypt facilitated a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza militants.
