Typhoon Hinnamnor (No. 11) approached the coast of Minami Daitojima, southeast of Okinawa Prefecture on Wednesday morning, August 31. Supermarket shelves were left empty as residents raced to stock up on supplies and necessities.

This video shows the empty shelves on a supermarket in Miyakojima and signage saying sea vessels carrying supplies didn't arrive in port due to the typhoon.
