Adnan Syed’s conviction for 1999 murder overturned
Adnan Syed’s conviction for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee in 1999 was overturned on Monday, September 19. Syed was jailed for more than 20 years until a Maryland judge ruled that a new trial was needed.
A popular podcast “Serial” might be the biggest push as it tried to set up the timeline of Lee’s death and reveal new details of the murder during each episode.
