Protests intensified in Tokyo, Japan, after right-wing groups clashed with the police during demonstrations against Shinzo Abe's state funeral.

The clip shows Japanese police pushing away a male protester.

Hundreds marched through the streets around the Nippon Budokan area where the state ceremony of the former Prime Minister was held today (September 27).

Demonstrators oppose the use of substantial state resources for Abe's funeral which is estimated to cost $11.4m. They also argue that state ceremonies have so far been reserved for members of the Imperial Family only.

The former Prime Minister was murdered at an election rally in July.
