Father of UK teenager that committed suicide in hospital hands in petition to 10 Downing Street
A grieving dad whose daughter took her life at a hospital in 2019 has cycled to 10 Downing Street to call for a public inquiry into failures at the NHS trust that treated her.
Michael Harnett rode 300 miles (480 km) from Newton Aycliffe to Downing Street in a journey that took him four days and was completed on October 7.
His daughter Christie Harnett, 17, was one of three teenagers who died within eight months at hospitals run by Tees Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust.
The 17-year-old took her life at Middlesbrough's West Lane Hospital in June 2019.
