Police take over 20 mins to take Animal Rebellion protester from Westminster Bridge

The protester was the final one to be removed from the bridge. Due to a shortage of emergency vehicles, the protester ended up sitting on the pavement for almost 20 minutes in the cold as daylight dimmed to darkness. The protester had the option to walk off the bridge, but refused to walk with the intention of being carried like the others before.

Officers did attempt to carry the protester off the bridge to a vehicle, but eventually abandoned the exercise after several failed attempts. One of the officers appeared to be visibly exhausted.

A police van did eventually, and the protester was taken away with no issues.
