Parents and their supporters marched through central London on Saturday 29 October in a rally dubbed the March of the Mummies.

The march, organised by campaign group Pregnant Then Screwed, is one of several across the UK, calling for changes to childcare, working practices and parental leave that they say are discriminatory and harmful.

They are demanding good quality, affordable childcare for all children, flexible working as the default, and well-paid parental leave for all parents.

They also want action on the gender pay gap, family poverty, and mothers feeling they have no choice but to leave the workforce.

On Saturday, October 29, a march will take place across 11 cities in the UK to require the Prime Minister prioritise: childcare, parental leave and flexible working. Childcare providers are falling like dominos, mothers are dropping out of the workforce in droves, the gender pay gap increased in 2021, and more families are now living in poverty. These are political choices made by our Government and the only way we make them listen is if we organise.
