Dozens of Netherlands fans cruised through the streets of Sorong, Indonesia, celebrating their 3-1 win over the USA in the World Cup on December 3.

Motorists and motorcyclists were seen waving Netherlands flags as they made their way through the city streets.

According to the video's supplier, many of those in the video are from Papua. An Indonesian province the Dutch colonised in 1800.

They also explained: "Even though some Indonesians regard the Netherlands as colonizers, this is not true for indigenous Papuans, for them the Netherlands is a very good country for them."

Following Japan's surrender in World War II, the Indonesian nationalists declared independence in 1945.

The Netherlands and Indonesia then formed diplomatic relations in 1949 and the two countries share a trade deal.

A group of diehard fans staged an impressive convoy of motorcycles and cars after the Netherlands soccer team defeated the United States national team in the round of 16 match of the Qatar world cup at the Khalifa International Stadium, December 3, 2022.

Three Dutch goals were created by Memphis Depay, Daley Blind and Denzel Dumfries. While the United States reduced the position through Haji Wright.

This victory led the Netherlands to qualify for the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup. They also became the first team to advance to the last eight phase.

These fanatical fans, complete with flags and the iconic orange shirts of the Dutch team, made a triumphant convoy along the main streets of Sorong City.

They looked very happy for the victory of their favorite team which finally qualified for the last 8 of the world cup.

In the convoy of victory, these fanatical supporters also sang the Dutch national anthem and a number of songs of encouragement for victory for the Dutch National Team.

Most of them are native Papuans who are fanatical Dutch fans passed down from generation to generation from their parents who had received education from the Netherlands when the Dutch arrived in Papua tens of years ago. And some of them support the Dutch National Team because the Total Football that the Netherlands plays in every game is very interesting

The Netherlands had previously occupied Indonesia for quite a long time in an invasion of that country. They also spread the wings of the government's occupation at that time to the Papua region.

Even though some Indonesians regard the Netherlands as colonizers, this is not true for indigenous Papuans, for them the Netherlands is a very good country for them as long as the Dutch colonize Indonesia.

Because the presence of the Dutch in the Papua region has opened up civilization, so far they have not known the meaning of civilization.
