The campaigning organization for older people in the UK , had a heated debate opposite the house of commons today on which was the coldest December day so far , there case was too be highlighting the disparities of the cost of living in a society renowned for describing it self as a first world economy


NPC members explained why they are taking the streets outside Parliament to protest over the shocking cost of food and fuel this winter and the delaying of the release of Excess Winter Mortality figures until January 2023.


As part of the Warm This Winter campaign, the NPC is calling for:


Emergency support now - More government help with energy bills to stop people being pushed into poverty this winter.


Help to upgrade homes - Government funding to help people cut their bills through better insulation and new heating systems.


Access to cheaper energy - Rapidly expand cheap renewable energy, in harmony with nature, to lower bills permanently.


to Free us from oil and gas - Stop opening up new oil and gas developments so we're not locked into expensive energy for longer than necessary.
