Police throughout Indonesia have tightened security following the suicide bombing that occurred in the courtyard of the Astana Anyar Police office, Bandung City, Indonesia, on December 7.

The video shows strict police checks and inspections at a police station in in Sorong, Southwest Papua Province. All visitors can be seen going through tight security checks before accessing the building.

Local police have also deployed a K9 sniffer dog to assist with the operation.

According to the Head of the Operational Section, Sorong City Police, Police Commissioner, Muhammad Nur, this increased security and vigilance has been implemented across all levels.

"We have ordered all levels up to the Polsek level to increase vigilance. We are doing extra security at every police station in this area," said Muhammad Nur.

Extra security and vigilance have also been tightened at airports and ports.

According to Muhammad Nur, the staff is inspecting every passenger who has just arrived at the airport and ship port.

In the city of Sorong, Southwest Papua Province, for example, the police in this area are increasing vigilance by carrying out strict inspections for all visitors who enter the police station.

From journalists' monitoring, every visitor who enters the Police Headquarters is first strictly examined by a number of police personnel armed with long barrels. Likewise, cars and motorbikes were not spared from police investigations.

The local police even deployed a K9 sniffer dog to assist with the inspection.

It can be seen that every vehicle parked in the courtyard of the Sorong City Police Headquarters did not escape police inspection using sniffer dogs.


According to the Head of the Operational Section, Sorong City Police, Police Commissioner, Muhammad Nur, this increased security and vigilance has been implemented at all levels of the Police up to the Polsek level.

"We have ordered all levels up to the Polsek level to increase vigilance. We are doing extra security at every police station in this area," said Muhammad Nur.

Apart from the Police Office, extra security and vigilance is also enforced at Public Facilities such as airports and ship ports. This was done considering that the City of Sorong is the entrance to the Land of Papua.

"Not only at the police headquarters, we have also increased security and vigilance at every public facility such as the airport and ship port. Because the city of Sorong is the main entrance to Papua," he said.

According to Muhammad Nur, in security activities at airports and seaports, his party has deployed personnel to inspect every passenger who has just arrived at the airport and ship port.

Regarding the Kamtibmas situation in the area after the suicide bombing in Bandung, West Java, according to Muhammad Nur, the Kamtibmas situation remains conducive. Community activities run as usual.

Muhammad Nur also appealed to all residents in the area to immediately report to the nearest Police if they find anything suspicious and considered dangerous to the community.

"To local residents to remain vigilant. If you find anything suspicious and considered to be a danger to residents, to immediately report it to the nearest police," he concluded.
